About the Community Center
We're building more than just a structure; we're creating a hub for community growth, education, and cultural preservation that aims to bring community revitalization and equity-based community services to the forefront by building the first-ever community center in the district of Puna that will promote & perpetuate Native Hawaiian values, traditions and practices while providing educational and employment opportunities. The community center will offer cultural workshops, after-school programs, community outreach events, business and culinary opportunities, wellness and health activities, and be able to host private events and meetings.

Center’s Vision

Participants will learn about plant names, hand-carving a papa kuʻi ʻai (poi board), moon cycles and its impact on plants, and more.

Youth programming for ages 5-18yrs, we will offer opportunities for planting, harvesting, and learning through moʻolelo.

We are a community hub for information, resources, and support.

We will provide access to technology to our most under-valued communities, kūpuna and low-income ʻohana.

We will prioritize the health and well-being of our communities by offering a variety of health services, including access to basic needs and trauma & healing-informed care.

We will strengthen sustainable local economies by providing equitable opportunities for social entrepreneurship and financial capital through our market

Our aspiration is to establish a secure environment where our community can engage in learning, teaching, interacting, and supporting each other through Native Hawaiian customs. Our objective is to construct a facility that accommodates programs, events, workshops, health & wellness initiatives, and various activities that aim to enhance and unite our community.
